City hires new HR
director
Joy Misako
St. Germain will start September 10 as the City of Tacoma’s Human
Resources director. She most recently was the human resources director and
diversity manager for the Washington State Department of Ecology. She
earned a master’s degree in health services administration from Yale
University and a bachelor of arts from Connecticut College.

Tails are wagging for
$1,025 in Dog-A-Thon donations
Thanks to
everyone who supported the Humane Society's annual Dog-A-Thon held on
Saturday, July 21. Even with a smaller team this year, the TPU Hounders are
proud to announce they raised $1,025, and their team placed ninth among all
teams participating in the walk that day. Team members and their hounds
included Scott Amsden, Power Management, with Moose; Sue Cearley, Power
Management, husband Terry, daughters Kayla and Kelsey, with Bob and Bob's
friend Daisy; Peggy Fillo, Power Management and daughter Roni, with Libby
and Cooper; and Kelly Martinez, T&D, with Juris.
